What do the kitten statuses mean in our cattery?
Are you planning to expand your family with a plush companion and browsing our litters page? Next to the kitten photos, you will find different designations such as Available, Reserved, or Under observation. Here is a step-by-step guide explaining what each status means so that the entire reservation process is clear and transparent for you!
1. Available
This is the simplest and most anticipated situation! The kitten is actively looking for a loving, forever home.
- The kitten is fully available for reservation.
- Feel free to call or message us to ask about their personality, request additional photos or videos, and discuss the reservation details.

2. Under observation
This status often raises questions. Please note: it absolutely does NOT mean there is anything wrong with the kitten or that they are unwell! All kittens in our cattery grow up in excellent conditions and remain under constant veterinary care.
What does this status mean in professional breeding practices?
When a kitten develops exceptionally well according to the breed standard (boasting excellent body structure, a rare or striking coat color, ideal proportions, and a wonderful temperament), we give ourselves time to evaluate their growth:
- Breeding evaluation: We are considering whether the kitten should remain in our cattery to continue our genetic lines.
- Inquiry from another breeder: A fellow breeder has requested time to evaluate the kitten’s potential for show or breeding programs.
If you fall in love with a kitten marked as Under observation, do not hesitate to reach out! You can register your interest, and if we decide not to keep the kitten in our cattery, we will contact you first.
3. Reserved
The kitten has found their new, dream home!
- The reservation agreement has been signed, and the deposit has been paid.
- The kitten stays safely in our cattery until they reach the appropriate age, complete all necessary vaccinations, undergo spay/neuter surgery, and pass their social adaptation period before moving to their new family.
4. In new home
The kitten has reached the required age, completed full preventive health protocols, packed their starter kit, and is already living happily with their new loving family.
5. Stays in the cattery
This kitten stole our hearts and meets the highest breed standards! We have decided that they will permanently stay with us at British Rainbow *PL to participate in cat shows and enhance our breeding program in the future.
